A LONG TIME COMIN

Gowa Gibbs is an American country music singer and songwriter. She grew up in the rural farm country of Virginia raised by her blue-collar family, with deep roots in Appalachia and the mountains of West Virginia. In 2009, at the age of 17 Gibbs set out on her own to Nashville to pursue her entertainment career. She quickly gained a reputation as a hard-working creative and community leader— working behind the scenes for artists and local businesses. From tour managing, booking, styling, and promoting musicians, Gibbs centered her roles around uplifting fellow creatives in the industry.

As she continued to explore her talents, she began accepting gigs as a backup singer, model, and event host. As a “woman about town” she has worked alongside major artists such as Elle King, Margo Price, and T Bone Burnett, as well as created unique, artist-driven experiences for brands like George Dickel, Allegiant Airlines, and Soho House. Gibbs regularly hosts karaoke nights where she encourages patrons to celebrate their shortcomings as much as their talents, with humble good times that keep her close to real people and music lovers from all walks of life.

MAKING MOVES

Given her background as a true country girl, Gibbs is deeply committed to creating music that appeals to the working class and is authentically vigilant in supporting veterans in her community. With the release of her 2024 single “Let’s Get Rollin”, Gibbs has partnered with the global machinery company Kubota, where she has created a landscape portraiture for farmers, construction workers, and set a new precedent for what it means to authentically link a brand to their purpose.

Gowa continues to show us the versatility of what she’s made of, where her songwriting for major artists shines on the opening track of Shaboozey’s new record. Her penmanship efforts on “Horses and Hellcats” landed the song’s first sync deal with Gatorade on a global commercial centered around Josh Allen, the star quarterback of the Buffalo Bills. As depicted in the ad, Josh Allen’s origin story is that of a valuable player who was overlooked in the sea of contenders. Gibbs echoes that same sentiment, a rising star who brings such a shine to the stage, you may not have realized she has been here all along

THE MUSIC

“Gowa has this unique ability to read a room, and get straight into the hearts of everyone she meets. It doesn’t matter if you’re a construction worker or a CEO, she treats everyone the same and always has a kind word to say. This magic translates to her musical talent, and the hope is that audiences will find themselves tapping their toes, belting lyrics as they drive down the road, and grabbing a friend for a swing on the dance floor. That’s the vibe we set out to create, because Gowa instinctively knows this is what people need at this moment.”
